FEATURE HEALTH & SAFETY
Health and safety is vital. Keeping your workforce safe is paramount. No longer the preserve of professionals with health and safety in their job titles, worker safety and wellbeing is now recognised as a strategic, business issue – particularly in manufacturing and industry
SAFETY & HEALTH EXPO the future of manufacturing and industrial safety S
afety & Health Expo is Europe’s leading event for the health and
safety sector. Last year it helped over 13,000 global professionals source products across PPE, behavioural safety and occupational health and wellbeing. This year, Safety & Health Expo takes place on 18-20 June, at ExCeL London. Safety & Health Expo is unique among
trade shows, with machine guarding, falls, exposure to dust and chemicals and PPE just some of the issues in the manufacturing sector, the show provides an opportunity to address concerns, gain learnings and source product to improve safety and efficiency across the factory, production facility and warehouse areas. The exhibition is set to deliver the
largest selection of innovative health and safety products on the market, as well as a host of leading exhibitors, cutting-edge insights and education, and networking with fellow professionals across the sector.
HUNDREDS OF EXHIBITORS Ultimately, the goal of any health and safety practitioner working in manufacturing is to minimise incidents at plants and factories. These are environments fraught with danger, and lax standards can be the difference between life and death. Accidents, in turn, can result in closure and prosecution, making a robust health and safety strategy essential. At Safety & Health Expo, visitors can identify and compare cost-effective products, keep up-to-date with essential regulations and legislation, and find solutions to the problems of workplace wellbeing. In 2018, the event welcomed more than
300 exhibitors both from the UK and the rest of the world. New exhibitors booked

for 2019 include MSA Safety, SYNLAB, Reflex and Locstatt, presenting alongside companies such as Draeger, Bolle Safety, and hundreds of others. These suppliers represent everything from gas detection and noise pollution to decontamination equipment and eye protection.
NEW FOR 2019 – PPE ATTACK AND SAFETY TECHNOLOGY ZONES In the new PPE Attack Zone, protective equipment and workwear will be put under scrutiny with real-time testing. A series of visual, interactive demonstrations will show how PPE is tested and accredited, so visitors can appreciate the difference between passing-grade PPE, and equipment that far surpasses industry standards in order to keep workers safe. The Safety Technology Zone is another
new feature set to demonstrate the opportunities and the risks of the new technology and digital solutions growing in use across every workplace – but most particularly in manufacturing and engineering. Visit to find information on the latest technology set to transform manufacturing, including robotics and AI. Safety & Health Expo is constantly
evolving to meet the changing needs of industry. This is particularly visible in the Workplace Wellbeing Show, a new area designed to highlight mental health and wellbeing, a growing concern across every sector. One of the talks in the dedicated seminar theatre will be led by Mind, the mental health charity, who will give advice on supporting employees’ mental health.

inspirational keynote speakers and talks on thought leadership, manufacturing professionals will benefit particularly from seminars on legislation and regulation updates. Legislation and regulation are likely to
become increasingly difficult to keep track of as Britain moves forward in the process of leaving the European Union. With so many European safety standards applying to the UK, the coming months and years may see big changes. Safety & Health Expo is an opportunity to keep abreast of the regulations most relevant to you. With time and ROI a priority for visitors,
Safety & Health Expo operates a Meetings Service to connect visitors with exhibitors and fellow professionals. This maximises efficiency and makes sourcing products, information and receiving 1-2-1 advice so much easier.
A BROADER SCOPE Visitors to the show will have free access to three co-located events: IFSEC International, FIREX International and Facilities Show, giving visitors the unique opportunity to source products at that intersection between health and safety, security, fire protection and facilities management. Safety & Health Expo is so important because nowhere else in the UK contains such a wealth of safety products, leading exhibitors and world- class education in one place for three days of business.
