New investment extends Calibrationhouse services and capabilities
N
ew laboratory facilities at a specialist UKAS accredited calibration service for electronic,
optical and dimensional test equipment are part of a six-figure investment to improve services and extend customer support. The investment, which includes new branding
and a comprehensive marketing strategy, will see Calibrationhouse develop its capabilities across an extensive range of medical device safety testers, defibrillation analysers and patient simulators. The move will allow the County Durham-based

company to offer customers one of the fastest, most reliable, and cost effective single- source precision instrumentation calibration services in the UK. Customers, who currently include household name manufacturers and many of the UK’s
NHS Trusts, will benefit from more efficient access to services currently available from the company’s County Durham head office. The company will continue to expand its activities as demand for flexible calibration
capabilities, which cover a broad range of test, measurement and analysis equipment, increases. This will see light meters, UV meters and torque equipment added to the of range of
electrical safety testers, defibrillator analysers, ventilator testers, high voltage test equipment, production line testers, oscilloscopes and other high spec instrumentation already included in the firm’s calibration service. Steve Winder, one of the project leads for
Calibrationhouse, said: “We are continuing to invest in our calibration equipment, facilities and on-site calibration teams to be able to offer a broad range of services. “Our customers already recognise the quality

and expertise we bring. So, we can now add even more value to current operations through authoritative, trustworthy and rapid services
that ensure their own compliance programmes aren’t compromised.”

TT’s Global Data Centres division is expanding its east London data centre in Dagenham, following last year’s
expansion of Hemel Hempstead. These investment plans give NTT the option of more than
doubling its capacity to more than 120MW in the London market, the company said. All UK data centres will be operating on 100% renewable energy. Masaaki Moribayashi, president and board director at NTT,
said: “As the third-largest data centre provider in the world, NTT continues to significantly accelerate our investment into the London and UK market as a key global location. “This investment provides scalable data centre and
connectivity infrastructure for our clients’ digital transformation needs.” NTT’s London data centres now deliver more than 53MW
of operational IT capacity, the company said. NTT’s London hub connects into NTT’s Global Data
Center Interconnect (GDCI), delivering a cross-regional data centre network and private secure connection to major cloud service providers. The Hemel Hempstead site opened in December 2021,
delivering half its full capacity in phase 1, and adding 9,600m² of IT space and 24MW IT load when fully built out.
nVent, has launched nVent ERIFLEX FleXbus, an innovative and patented connection solution between two pieces of electrical equipment
will offer savings on the overall installation time while reducing total installation cost. The easy-to-install, flexible power connection

solution is capable of applications demanding 500 A to 4700 A and is designed as an ideal alternative to using multiple heavy gauge cables. nVent ERIFLEX FleXbus is a complete low-voltage power connection system for multiple applications, such as from transformers to switchgears, interconnection between transformers or switchgear connections and with enhanced flexibility, nVent ERIFLEX FleXbus can be installed in tighter locations or where more demanding tolerances are needed. Amongst other benefits, nVent ERIFLEX FleXbus
is paired with nVent ERIFLEX Advanced Technology, meaning greater safety both for individuals and infrastructure and reduced environmental impact.

connections up to 115oC, coupled with low smoke, halogen-free and flame-retardant properties, reduces the potential for toxic smoke, limits the spread of fire and is ICE-certified worldwide, making it a safer solution. It also offers quick and easy installation with no need for specialist installers or expensive tools.
customers and positions us well for dynamic growth in the low voltage electrical space as we watch the increasing need for safe and reliable delivery of electricity in critical applications.” Frédéric Bizet, nVent ERIFLEX product manager,
said that initial testing had shown that all of these innovations provide customers up to 50% quicker installation and 20% reduction in total installed cost.
