Teepee Electrical harnesses new capacity to target £500,000 sales boost

A

cable harness, wiring looms and panel

assemblies specialist is targeting a 20% boost in sales after it secured a string of new contracts. Teepee Electrical, which

supports clients in the automotive, rail, ‘blue light’ and electrification sectors, is looking to take turnover past the £3 million mark as more customers tap into its ability to supply low, medium and high volumes. Following the purchase of £100,000

worth of automatic crimp presses, ancillary tooling and a cable cutting and process machine, the company has started supplying volume cable assemblies to a second tier UK automotive supplier with plans in place to be involved in new vehicle platforms by Spring 2022. This complements recent wins with

a major rail customer for an ongoing fleet upgrade project and the development of a wiring harness for an EV client. “Sales are back to £2.5m, which is where they were before the pandemic

struck,” said Steve Clarke, managing director at Teepee Electrical. “The really exciting news is that

we’re currently witnessing our biggest pipeline of opportunities, and this could easily translate to more than £500,000 of additional business over the next 12 months.” Just before Christmas, Teepee

Electrical bought the assets of FW Cables in a deal that gave the business immediate access to higher volume capacity. “This really rounds off the full-

service offer for us, meaning we can deliver complex low and medium volume work, along with lower complexity mass production,” said Mr Clarke.

CMD launches 48-hour turnaround on Betatrak rapid ordering service

with a commitment to delivering within 48-hours of an approved purchase order. The service enables customers to order up to 50 lengths of

C

Standard or Clean Earth (C/E) low noise Betatrak, along with up to 25 feed units and 10 flexible corner kits, and includes delivery scheduling to a nominated address. Stephen Roberts, head of sales at CMD, said: “Our goal is always to

work in partnership with electrical wholesalers and contractors to help them overcome challenges. “As a UK manufacturer with plenty of stockholding capacity, CMD is

able to offer this new 48-hour service and we are certain that it will provide a lifeline to contractors who might otherwise have to face costly delays while waiting for powertrack.” The new 48-hour service means that purchase orders received

before 12pm Monday to Friday will be scheduled for same day dispatch, while those received after 12pm will be dispatched the following day. Mr Roberts said all standard lengths of Standard and Clean Earth

(C/E) low noise Betatrak are included in the 48-hour commitment, but there is a minimum order quantity of 10 lengths when ordering 3.6m lengths of Betatrak. “CMD will process purchase orders for the rapid service in the

order in which they are received, and the 48-hour service level commitment is only valid for one purchase order per customer within any 48-hour period,” Mr Roberts said. “Betatrak has been designed to be fast and simple to install

and, with this new rapid service it’s also fast and simple to procure too.”

MD has launched a rapid ordering service for its Betatrak underfloor powertrack distribution systems and accessories,

Aggreko commits to mandatory greener fuels switch A

ggreko has further confirmed its commitment to reaching net zero emissions by beginning

the transition from diesel to greener fuel sources in its fuel management services. The organisation’s ongoing phaseout is part of

its pledge to cut the amount of the fossil fuel used by the organisation by 50% before 2030 and reduce local air quality emissions from its fleet by a similar figure. Specifically, Aggreko intends to phase out offering diesel with its fuel management services from April, instead solely providing hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO). The move is part of the global temporary

equipment supplier’s ‘Greener Upgrades’ initiative, electricalengineeringmagazine.co.uk

which also includes a multi-million-pound investment in new products and technologies, alongside alternative fuels.

Chris Rason, managing director of Aggreko

Northern Europe, said: “The need to be sustainable has long shifted from a vague preference to an absolute priority for all businesses, and this sentiment continues to be reinforced through action. “For example, at COP26, proposals have been

floated to force UK firms how they will reach net zero targets set for 2050. However, despite this shift to a ‘prove it’ culture when it comes to decarbonisation, complacency and greenwashing sadly still remains at a time when organisations need to begin taking steps toward a greener future.”
