CHELL INSTRUMENTS DONATE LATEST MINIATURE PRESSURE SCANNER TO BECOME GOLD SPONSORS OF BCN EMOTORSPORT FORMULA STUDENT TEAM C

hell Instruments, have donated their nanoDAQ-LTS-16 pressure scanner to help

BCN eMotorsport develop the aerodynamics of their racing car. Now, student engineers from BCN eMotorsport

can gather better and more precise aerodynamic data during the testing of their single-seater racing car. “When BCN eMotorport contacted us

regarding a collaboration to improve their aerodynamic design, we were more than happy to help. Through our Spanish distributor, Rosetta Technology, we were able to provide the measurement technology needed to support them” said Jamie Shanahan, Director at Chell Instruments. Founded in 2007, BCN eMotorsport is a

student racing team from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (known as BarcelonaTech) in Barcelona, Spain. BCN eMotorsport became the first Spanish

Formula Student team to design and build an electric car in 2011, followed by a driverless car in 2018. In 2022, they introduced their first ‘fusion’ car, a combination of both models which can be operated with or without a driver. With a strong track record of success BCN eMotorsport are hoping to take the capabilities of

75 YEARS OF CEF: CITY ELECTRICAL FACTORS CELEBRATES MAJOR ANNIVERSARY BY GIVING BACK

T

he nationwide electrical wholesaler will be turning almost 400 branches into collection

points for food banks across the UK as it marks over seven decades of service. City Electrical Factors (CEF) is marking its 75th anniversary with a nationwide community food

drive, amongst continued CEF Cares initiatives throughout the year. Over 400 foodbanks will be supported as part of the campaign, with every CEF branch becoming a donation point in the run up to the official celebration on 16th

July 2026. For the duration of the initiative, CEF branches

will both donate essential goods and act as collection point for their local foodbank. This initiative is part of CEF’s “Days of Giving” campaign, which also includes a number of internal activities, such as recognition awards and live streams of the food bank drop offs. As well as the community food drive, CEF’s Anniversary will feature a range of events and

awards designed to celebrate the brand’s achievements and look ahead to a future of ongoing innovation. Alongside its community focus, CEF is using

the milestone to reflect on the evolution of the electrical sector itself and the rise of increasingly digital, connected and energy-focused technologies. With demand for electrification, from EV charging to energy efficiency, continuing to grow, the business is positioning its experience as a foundation for future development with events, talks and trade counter knowledge. Anyone interested in getting involved with CEF’s

food collection should reach out to their local trade counter for more information, or visit their website. Donations as part of the community food drive will be accepted from May until July.

their latest fusion single-seater racing car (the CAT18x) to the next level in preparation for Formula Student 2026. By using the nanoDAQ-LTS-16 pressure scanner

donated by Chell Instruments, the team can now accurately measure air pressure across components such as the front wing, rear wing, sidepods and floor. This will allow them to capture more precise data and ultimately help make better design decisions.

“Having a nanoDAQ-LTS-16 on board has been

a massive step forward for our aerodynamic validation on track! Chell provided the exact differential pressure range we need to prevent the sensors from saturating, so we can now capture precise aerodynamic data at top speeds” stated Sabrina Faieta, Team Leader at BCN eMotorpsort.
