Our Han-Eco connectors reduce energy lost in power connections by up to 50 per cent thanks to low-impedance contacts compared to the typically used CEE plug solutions (IEC 60309). This can contribute to yearly savings of up to £100,000 in energy costs for a hyperscale data centre with 15,000 racks.
plant in Northampton, we offer pre-assembled cabling systems to help reduce costs and simplify installation in data centres. Visit us at stand DC536 and learn how we can support you.
H Why visit HARTING at Data
Centre World? Stand DC536 Nowhere in the world is the bar higher for efficiency than a new data centre. There’s always pressure to get online in record time. Every week, every day, every hour they’re not online, millions in capital are at risk.
AI and cloud computing rely on racks of servers.
From 2022 to 2023, data centres saw an increase in energy consumption, with more data centres being built in 2023 thanks to the growth of AI and cloud computing. With an increased demand for new data centres, HARTING’s portfolio of connectivity solutions helps get data centres online quicker and stay online reliably.
Meet and talk with our experts: Learn about our customised solutions, based at our Northampton facility, we manufacture components tailored to your specific requirements. We design, build and test a wide range of bespoke products such as UL and CE-marked cable assemblies, hoods, housings and connectors. We understand every data centre has its unique challenges, and we are here to offer solutions tailored for you.
Pre-assembled cables to
reduce installation times Pre-assembled cables can significantly reduce data centre installation times compared to hardwiring solutions. Ensuring data centres are operational quickly and efficiently. We simplify the process by eliminating complex on-site terminations, enabling quicker installations with less specialised labour. These cables come factory-tested, allowing for immediate operation after installation.
Our standardised cabling solutions reduces troubleshooting time, whilst providing flexibility to accommodate future changes or expansions.
Improve Energy Efficiency by up to 50 per cent: Yearly savings of
up to €95,000 in energy costs. IDC reports that energy consumption per server is growing by around 9 per cent per year globally. Servers are getting smaller to save installation space, however, the performance of the servers increases the energy requirement. The cost of energy consumption can be more than 50 per cent of the total data centre operating expenses (OPEX).

As mentioned previously, our power connectivity solutions can be pre-assembled, removing the risks and complexities from hardwiring, helping data centres to be operational quickly, reduce downtimes whilst improving Power Usage Efficiency (PUE). “The IP efficiency of the HARTING connectors were very good in these types of different environments. The other thing it does for us is that you can’t put them in wrong, there are certain connectors for certain sections of the unit. It therefore removes some of the human element out of the installation.” James Kummer, Schneider Electric, Systems Product Manager
Simplify rack maintenance, reduce downtime with quick
fuse replacement The new Han Protect connector enables simplified fuse replacement by moving connections to outside the control cabinet eliminating the need for costly, specialised labour.
• On-connector LED light signals when a fuse is blown
• Easily accessible, integrated fuse for replacement in seconds
• Smaller footprint than fuse terminal blocks mean smaller control cabinets
• Supports sustainability initiatives by requiring less cabinet materials
