Mau P’s music transcends genres, blending elements from Tech House to experimental sounds. “I always try


to


bring something new to the table,” he explains. His secret sauce lies in impeccable groove and drums, offering audiences a blend of sensuality and raw power.


“Whatever style of music I produce I like to take influences from multiple different genres and combine them. ‘Drugs From Amsterdam’ for example was basically Tech House with old-school rave and Techno sounds combined. I think my signature lies in having the groove and drums on point, bringing the people something sexy to dance to, but still shock them with heavy synths.”


Mau P’s remix of ‘I Want Your Soul’ by Armand van Helden breathed new life into a classic. His approach was to respect the original’s essence while modernizing the sound. The result? A dance floor anthem that received acclaim from his hero himself.


“I honestly just wanted to make an edit for my sets, but it got a little out of hand. My approach was to take the vocal and that one super recognizable synth hook, and build something banging around it while maintaining the original groove. The bassline has the same rhythm but only uses that note which makes it a little deeper and dirtier. Once Armand got word of it and called me I was flabbergasted. Another one of my heroes to tick off the list.”
