“I’d say it’s more about the feeling than the technical side at first. I always start by thinking about the vibe or the emotion I want to create—something that grabs you by the soul. Once I know what that feels like, then I dive into the technical aspects, but it’s all in service of that emotional connection. Tribal vocals have this raw power, and blending them with modern beats creates this beautiful balance of old and new.”

The balance of ancient and modern influences is a de- fining feature of his sound, creating a rich and textu- red listening experience.

Reflecting on his early days as a DJ at Pacha, SOR shares how these experiences shaped his understan- ding of music and crowd connection.

“Playing at Pacha was where I learned how to read the room and really guide a crowd through a night of music. Over time, my sound has gotten deeper, more rhythmic, and more textured. One turning point for me was pla- ying a sunrise set—it was magical. Seeing the way the music brought everyone together as the sun came up showed me the power of a perfectly timed track, and that’s something I carry with me in every set.”

These experiences have contributed to the evolution of his sound, leading him to where he is today. As SOR prepares to release new music under the Sounds of Rituals label, fans can expect deeply perso- nal and transformative tracks.

“This release of Clase Azul is deeply personal to me—it reflects themes like transformation, growth, and fin- ding your own voice. It’s like putting my journey into sound. I’ve gone through a lot to get to this point and the music channels that story of evolving, both as an artist and as a person.”

This new release marks a significant milestone in his career, with music that encapsulates his journey of personal and artistic growth.

The process of working on this release has been both rewarding and challenging for SOR.

“Honestly, the most rewarding part was just allowing myself to be fully open with the music, even when it felt scary or vulnerable. The creative process had its ups and downs, but there were moments where something just clicked—like working with a new vocalist like Le Coco or finding a melody that perfectly matched the mood I was trying to capture. Those little moments felt like magic.”

These moments of creative breakthrough are what keep SOR pushing forward, constantly striving to create something new and authentic.
