As Editor-in-Chief of Mixmag Caribbean, it feels special to open this issue with Louie Vega on the cover. Louie is more than a DJ or producer, he is a bridge between the Bronx, Puerto Rico, and the global dancefloor. In our conversation, he spoke with honesty about family, about the influence of his uncle Héctor Lavoe, about collaborations that feel like bonds, and about how his roots continue to guide every move. What you will read is not just the story of a career, but the testimony of an artist who has become universal while staying true to where he comes from.
We also wanted this edition to highlight the new generation shaping the future. 4Pleasure, KUKO, Rooléh, Upper90, and x3butterfly all bring fresh visions and unique textures to the scene, and their voices remind us that the Caribbean spirit is alive in every corner of club culture. From legends to the next wave, this issue is a celebration of continuity and evolution, a reminder that our dancefloor is both deeply local and undeniably global.
For me, that is the essence of Mixmag Caribbean. We tell stories that carry heritage and at the same time point forward, stories that celebrate icons like Louie Vega while giving space to the new voices who will define the next decade. This issue is an invitation to connect with both, to recognize the roots and to feel the future at the same time.
