Not every kitchen and bath remodeler is created equal. Ask around and you’ll hear just about as many horror stories as success stories when it comes to home remodels. One way you can ensure that your upcoming kitchen or bathroom remodel will fall into the latter category is to hire a professional certified by the National Kitchen and Bath Association.


So, what does NKBA certification really mean for you as a homeowner? With an NKBA certified professional you get:


An Expert in the Field The NKBA has some very high standards that kitchen and bath remodelers and designers must meet before they can become certified members. The absolute minimum required for certification is two years experience working in the kitchen/bath industry, 30 hours of NKBA education or approved college coursework, two professional endorsements and passing the certification examination. It only goes up from there for higher levels of certification.


And such prerequisites are not the end of things. After certification, the NKBA requires:


Continuing Education While the NKBA recognizes certain educational programs that meet their high standards, they also have their own library of educational materials, courses and programs. These tools help keep NKBA designers and remodelers at the top of their game and always on the cutting edge.
