We are pleased to announce The 2024


Design Competition award winners.


This competition recognizes the superior professionally designed work created by NKBA members of the California Capital Chapter. The competition is measured by:


Visual Appeal: This area considers the overall aesthetic appeal of the project.


Creativity: This area considers the use of innovative solutions, products, and materials.


Basic Safety and Ergonomics: This area considers the NKBA kitchen and bath planning guidelines.


Elements and Principles of Design: Elements include space, line, form and texture. Principles include balance, rhythm, emphasis, scale, proportion, harmony.


Presentation: This area considers the quality of floor plans, interpretive drawings, mechanical plans, and photographs.


All competition entrants have the chance to enter the National Competition as well. Congratulations to all who entered.

A stylish kitchen features a vibrant blue island with brass glaze, contrasting against light grey surroundings. Mixing traditional elements with glam features, including glass doors, mosaic backsplash, crystal chandelier, and a distinctive quartz countertop.

This is purely based on the personal opinions of the voting media, without measuring technical elements or principals required by industry judges when measuring the formal entries in the Design Competition.
