This cherub won’t be spread ing any love on Valentine’s Day.,

The antique statue, which is - worth around £4,000; was

Jon Myhill, of Clitheroe Bike Club, wasn't deterred by the mud. S B HxlM

stolen by heartless thieves during a break-in at a popu lar Ribble Valley cafe bar and restaurant. Police hope the thieves can still find it • in their hearts to return the cherub-fountain undam aged. The statue was stolen from the frog pond at the entrance to The Glass House Cafe Bar.-, at Stydd in Ribchester on the night of Thursday February 6th. Police think the valu- . .

able garden ornament may have been stolen to order. Alison Brown, proprietor of j The Glass House Cafe Bar, says she would love to see it back: “The little cherub had been here for many years and it was the first thing cus tomers saw as they entered - the cafe. It gave people such a lot of pleasure and now there’s just aholeby the frog pond and no cherub. It’s so sad,” said Alison. Anyone with information

' about the stolen cherub is aske d to contact the police on 101 or ring The Glass House on 07854 509698.

New twist to parish plan

Bolton-By-Bowland, Gisburn Forest and Sawley Parish Council held open meetings in each of its wards to discuss the issue of producing a Neigh bourhood Plan. After its meetings in Saw-:

ley, Tosside (Gisburn Forest) and Bolton-by-Bowland, the outcome was that Tosside (Gisburn Forest) and Bolton- By-Bowland were each in favour of preparing a Neighs bourhood Plan, but Sawley

residents voted against the proposal. The Parish Council then held a special meeting on Monday February 3rd to con sider the outcome from this consultation process and its response. It is now proposing that the

Neighbourhood Plan will cov er the area bounded by the two wards ofTosside (Gisburn For est) and Bolton-by-Bowland, while he ward of Sawley will not be included. An applica-

tion has been submitted to Ribble Valley Borough Coun cil for Designated Area Status, which will be then subject to a six-week period of public con sultation. Anyone wanting more de

tails or with a query about the parish plan can contact the Parish Council chairman, Allan Clements, or any of the other Parish Councillors, or David Ingham at Ribble Valley Borough Council.
