Concert will give

THE celebrations to mark the Queen's Diamond jubilee are continuing in Chatbum this weekend with a summer concert covering a wide range of music from choral to jazz. The choir of St Christopher's

Schooi, Accrington, will perform a wide range of music, including a special piece written for the Queen by their music instructor Helen Davies, and which the choir had the priviiege to perform for Her Majesty on her recent royal visit to East Lancashire. In contrast, the swing band

from St Christopher's wili also be performing numbers from the big band days. Local jazz legend Eric Ainsworth will be the special guest for the evening. The event takes place at 7-30

p.m. tomorrow, June 22nd. Tickets are priced £7 each, which includes wine, tea, coffee and cakes and biscuits.

Proceeds will be split between

the upkeep of the church and the charity Hope for justice, which campaigns against human trafficking. Clive Greenwood, the event

organiser, commented: "Very iittle is known about this particular charily, but it is a sad fart that human trafficking is a greater issue than the drug probiem. "We have seen examples of local

activity in the news recently, and it is said that is only the tip of the iceberg. Donations to Hope for justice go towards bringing to justice the perpetrators. "The concert itself promises to

demonstrate the potential of youth and how they can bring enjoyment with their musical and choral skills and talent." Tickets can be obtained in

advance from Roy Porter Butchers in Chatburn, or by ringing 01200 441624 or 01254 384893.
