Trawden Sheepdog Society for 25 years, while John is the treasurer. He was chairman when the English National was held at Kirkby Lons dale in 2006 and Carol was secretary. The couple have also

helped at several other national and international tri als. John has represented his country on three occasions. He was also seventh in the supreme championship at the Mostyn International. A total of 240 handlers and

their dogs from 23 competing nations will compete in the World Trials, which is set to be one of the highlights in this year’s northern events calendar. Full details - with an ad

is the only place in England were visitors can watch such footage capturing the birds and their young on a big screen. And over the next few months staff and volunteers from the Lanca shire Countryside Service and the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) will be on hand to y . talk to ■visitors about these

Lancashire Countryside Services, said: “We have been broadcasting nest footage at the centre for five years now and it is always really popular with our visitors. Hen harriers are amazing birds and the nest camera gives people the opportunity to follow the chicks from their first days after birth until they fledge.” The pair of hen harriers

and their four chicks on camera are part of a very small population in Eng land. Last year only seven pairs of hen harriers nested successfully in England, five of which were on the United Utilities estate in the Forest of Bowland. Continuous footage of

the hen harriers on camera can be viewed seven days a week at the Bowland Visi tor Centre on Beacon Fell Country Park near Preston. Viewing is possible from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m; every day."
