Lancs Cup win tops off a superb season
A TREMENDOUS afternoon's rugby at the Vole of Lune Rugby Club sow o double triumph for Stonyhurst College. Its under-14s team beat Morecombe
37-15 in the final of the Lancashire Cup.

who convincingly beat Arnold 45-3 to win the Lancashire Plate. Stonyhurst's under-14s squad has

FUND-RAISERS at Sue. Ry der charity are encouraging teams from Yorkshire and ^ncashire to compete in walk ing a 100k long distance walk across two counties in less than 30 hours. The Ribble Way Challenge starts
from the Ribblehead Viaduct, Set tle and follows much o f the River Ribble to the finish at the Dolphin Inn, Longton. To date the event will see over
50 supporters taking on the chal lenge with Yorkshire being slightly ahead with one more team than the Lancastrians. There are many places still avail

Young Writer of the Year
CLITHEROE Rotary Club named its Young Writer of the Year at its Harrogate conference, bringing most o f the 480 delegates to tears with Corrine Wrlnge’s entry.
This y ea r’s theme was “The
letter I would most like to write.” Corrine, a pupil at Ribblesdale High School Technology College, won with a letter she wrote to her sister, Lucie, who died at just four weeks old. Her descriptive and emotion filled piece was deemed a very worthy winner and attending the conference to collect her prize; she was singled out in the speeches for having made a massive impres sion on eveiyone there.
