of songs by the Police, Manic Street Preachers, U2 and Oa
sis, the band will play for about an hour before the rescue team guides everyone safely back down the hill. Team leader Andy Simp
son said: “When we originally had this fundraising idea many people thought we were a bit mad to do it, but it’s only a couple of years since some of our team members escorted a band up Kilimanjaro in Africa for the highest pop concert in the world. Hopefully, lugging all this gear up Pendle Hill will be much easier by compari son.”
The organisers want people
to enter into the spirit of Pend le and come dressed as witches and there’s a prize for the best costume on the day and a free commemorative T-shirt for everyone. All proceeds from the event
will go to the team’s new base appeal. The walk starts at 9 a.m. from Barley Village at the foot of Pendle Hill. To take part just turn up on the day in suitable clothes and footwer, pay your £15 entry fee and away you go! For more infor mation ring Alwyn Hayes on 07957 758327.
