flip ^ ‘Extended* Robinson family's Good Fridaytrek
A GOOD Friday tradition saw 35 walkers enjoy a four-mile stroll around the Ribble Valley. Setting out from th e Petre
Arms, the group - who are linked to Trinity Methodist Church - set off through the fields to Old Lang- ho and down to Hacking Hall. After a lunch stop on the river
bank, the party followed the riv e r behind Brockhall village and eventually back to the start point. : Although the walkers managed
to avoid the rain all afternoon, the' paths were muddy underfoot. Stuart Robinson, who led the
walk, said the annual Easter event; has been taking place for the past;
35 years. He explained th a t th e event
had started out as a Robinson family outing, but has grown year, by year and ahvays takes place af te r the ecumenical,Good Friday service..' -

Manor House hatched Easter celebrations
and were handled daily by residents. ■

TIines.Thursday. April 8.2010
EASTER was celebrated at The Man or House, Chatbum, by residents, staff andvisitors. Ten fertilised chicken eggs were
safely hatched under the careful watch o f a placement student from Holland and the home’s residents.- The chicks provided great interest
■ Easter bonnets were created by resi dents; with the help of their keywork ers and a competition to find the best bonnet was judged by the family of Mrs Betty Morton. An Easter raffle, with 30 prizes do
nated by Friends of The Manor House, and knitted chicks filled with eggs raised £100 for the residents’ social fund.

CLITHEROE Castle grounds provided the per
fect location for a craefing Easter activity. Around 350 people of all ages took part in a special
treasure hunt organised by the Friends of Chernobyl’s Children Clitheroe branch. After a two-year break the Easter egg treasure hunt
proved a popular family fiind-raiser with youngsters and their families searching the grounds for the clues. Elev en winners were drawn from all the correct entries. \ -Despite the sunshine and showers the treasure hunt
raised £870, which was boosted with the sale of almost 1 4 0 hand-knitted woollen chicks. v
■ -! All the money raised will be used to support the work o f the Clitheroe branch which supports the annual visit: o f 20 children from Chernobyl for a month each year.
