I t was certainly memorable
racing, as in sprint race three, Schofield won by a remarkable 2.5 ahead of nearest competi-
tor Tomas Slovak of the Czech Republic. 'This maintains a good track
record for Schofield, who last year won two gold medals in individual races and a bronze overall, before crowning a fan tastic debut for his first season as a senior. Schofield has been canoeing
for more than 10 years, along the way winning numerous titles. In 2002, he became Junior
World Champion in Bala, Wales, and in 2005 placed third overall in the Senior World Cup, winning two gold medals in individual sprint events.
