Comic Relief antics... Comic Relief antics... Seeing red!
A TEDDY bears’ picnic and a mad hair day were just two of the ways kindergarten pupils at Moorland School in Clitheroe raised funds for Comic Relief. The KGl kindergarten group
dressed up for the occasion and enjoyed a picnic with games, while the KG2 kindergarten group had a mad hair and non- uniform day. Altogether, the groups raised £72 between them. Our picture shows staff and
children dressed up for Comic Relief. (B110305/3b)
Waddling for charity cash
TODDLERS from the Waddington Waddlers group, above, raised £50 for Comic Relief. The youngsters and their
parents donned a mixture of red attire including the obli gatory red noses and colour ful wigs! A Fairtrade stall was also set up during the group’s session, which is held every Friday morning at Wadding ton Methodist Hall, raising £90. Picture shows the group all dressed up. (B110305/4)
YOUNG performers, left, from Gisburn proved they had real star ta len t by raising almost £150 for Comic Relief. The funds were raised at a con
cert held a t Gisburn Festival Hall, which included perfor mances from villagers aged from seven up to 16. The entertainment ranged
from a'rock band, singers and those playing instruments, to a talk about ferrets and ferret rac ing. The 60-strong audience was also treated to comedy sketches and dancing.
'v'fW ^ fir Youngsters’ star quality Villager Mrs Marie Cassidy,
who organised the concert, said: “ I thought it would be nice to get the children doing something because there’s nothing for them to do in the village. I thought I would get them all involved in something they would enjoy and at the same time raise money for charity.” She added it was a real community effort with villagers donating prizes, providing refreshments and helping to pub licise the event. Picture shows those who took part in the concert. (T130305/17)

Discussion ranged over demolition of these garages to provide open parking, pushing the road through the gardens and/or find ing other nearby land for off-street parking. The problems are real and RVBC is to be asked for proposals.
The houses were built at a time when multi ple car ownership per household had never been envisaged. The access road is narrow and ends in spacious linking gardens to the right. A small garage site was provided, but residents suspect some garages are used for general storage rather than the real purpose and wish Ribble Valley Bor ough Council, as own ers, to be vigilant about this.
