Happiness- as a dream comes true in Africa
Help needed to equip the Rainbow Village
GENEROUS residents of Clitheroe and the Kibble Valley are playing a vital and much appreciated role in helping to build a village for
AIDS children in South Africa. More than £10,300 has been raised via a spe
cial bank account set up in Clitheroe. Below, for mer Clithcroc resident Mrs Valeric Carter (pic tured with village children) writes about the work now under way in Rainbow Village.

the finishing touches. The craft centre and tea rooms are taking shape - these are p a r t of the self-sufficiency plan. The sports stadium on the adjoining land has no refreshment facilities
and, therefore, i t is hoped that the tea room
will provide much need ed revenue towards vil

buildings are made on the site, thus providing work for quite a number of the previously unem ployed. They learn new skills and it is quite a cost saving. When the village is complete the brick making will con tinue and the bricks will be offered for sale to the local community - another way to help sup

She knew that b y delaying the process, more AIDS patients would have to be turned away from Sparrow due to lack of space.
