LITHEROE Dolphins will have three youngsters in the National Biathlon Championships in Bath,
Highton, Cathenng Dudbndge and Victo ria Marshall were runners-up in the 11-12 years category in Horwich and qualified to represent the North West and Ribble Val ley on November 27-28th. The trio swam 100m in the Leisure Cen tre and then ran 1,000m on Horwich
Grammar School field. They are now hard at training, running
and swimming three times a week. All three are aged 11, with Louise a pupil
Catherine from St Augustine’s and Victo1 riafrom St Wilfrid's, Blackburn. Their male counterparts. Matthew
Poplett, Toby Banfield and Paul Jaggs were also second in the 12-13 years section, but unfortunately cannot attend the National Final. Megan Phillip, who along with Holly
Bond and Beth Highton were second in the 9-10 years section, and qualified for the
individual event. But the nine-year-old is taking ner gram
mar school exams on the same weekend as the finals and also cannot attend.
