eggshells th ro u g h o u t th e y e a r for th e rem a rk ab le e v en t she has organised fo r two classes of y o u n g s ters o v e r th e p a s t five y e a rs . Mrs La s sey said th e idea for th e special eggs came from a vis it to America, w h e re children search
for eggs with sw e e ts inside. “I t ’s a glorious couple of h ours . We hide th e shells
in th e g ra s s and h an g th em on th e tre e s . T h e ir faces l ig h t up when th e y see all th e colours,” Mrs Las sey said. “T h ey ru sh ab o u t and la te r I tell them I ’m looking for a golden egg, o r th e child who found the most. I t ’s fun for us a l l .” Th e popular lollipop lady, who even hid a hot
cross bun, is p ic tu red with some of th e children who h u n ted for h e r beautiful eggs.
