BILINGUAL OUTREACH OFFICER


ELTEC one o f the driving forces for Training and Enterprise in East Lancashire is looking for a suitable candidate to join their EMG Team. The EMG Team is supported by the Home Office and complements the TEC’s plan for Investment in the economic growth potential o f East Lancashire’s large and rapidly increasing Ethnic Minority Population. Due to staff replacement, we require a Bilingual Outreach Officer, who will be working under the direction of the Youth Co-ordinator. The Officer will be responsible for raising awareness amongst Minority Ethnic Communities in Pcn d le, o f o p p o r tu n itie s available to them thro u g h fu r th e r education, training and enterprise provision and to improve take-up levels within all


programmes. The position requires a thorough knowledge of the demographic make-up o f East Lancashire Towns and a high level o f understanding of local cultures. Excellent com m u n ic a tio n skills, written an d spoken a re re q u i re d , an d th e ability to communicate in a relevant Asian language is desirable. A d d i t io n a l requirements include: i) The ability to work within a team. ii) Previous experience of working at all levels o f management within organisations.


iii) A demonstration of IT and Marketing Skills.
