Rachel makes it a family ‘double’

FOLLOWING a family tradition, Mrs Rachel Sanderson, of Whalley, celebrated her 90th birth day only a year after her sister in neighbouring Clitheroe. Mrs Sanderson was

treated to a lovely day by the pupils of St Augus tine’s RC School, Rilling- ton. They invited her to lunch on the day of her birthday and gave her a wonderful feast of food and wine. The orchestra played for

her, the pupils sang “Happy Birthday” and, at

the end of her visit, she was presented with a bas ket of flowers. Mrs Sanderson pres

ently lives on Station Road, Whalley, but was born in Westleigh, near Wigan. 'I’he family moved to Barrow when she was a child and she attended Wiswell School until she was l'l. On leaving school, Mrs
