Fallon signs as professional
WHALLEY all-rounder Mark Fallon has signed as professional for Lancashire and Cheshire League outfit

After he carried off both the bowler and player-of-the-year
awards at the recent Whitbread Ribblesdale Cricket League prize night, the news does not
come as a shock. Fallon (25), of Abbots Croft,
is relishing the challenge. “I am looking forward to the
added responsibility which I feel should be good for my game, said the talented Fallon. Although sorry to be leaving
and committee last week, Fallon decided that Thomham was the club for him. Several other sides were interested in signing him. but Fallon decided to take the first concrete offer that came
along. Signing his one year contract
was the fulfillment of his main boyhood ambition — to become a professional cricketer. “ I would gladly pay to play
his home-village club, Fallon felt that he was getting slightly complacent and the friendships th a t had evolved with some opposition players had taken some of the competitive edge out of his game. "Whalley have done so well
