name was made, and still people come to his new restaurant from many miles away who have relied upon his high qual­ ity for a quarter of a century. Like most Italians,


Tony has dreamed about returning to his homeland, having only come to Lan­ cashire for one year origin­ ally, but he finds the peo­ ple of the Red Rose county so pleasant that he is more than happy to remain in his adopted home. Tony and Anita bought the Ridge Cottage 15


years ago, and they are quite happy now to make a reasonable living and enjoy life. He said: “It took me 25 years to make something, and then I went and spent it in six months on this. But if we can enjoy it and make a living, then that’s what counts.”
