won by Royal Oak’s Dave Drac for an 84 checkout including two doubles. The league’s presentation


will take place at the White Horse on Monday following the

PREPARATIONS are running smoothly for the Ribble Valley Reebok-sponsored triathlon, on October 27th. The maximum number of 90


competitors has been reached with ease, and several triath­ letes have found themselves on a reserve list, hoping to find a place in the competition should others drop out. As with the previous three


triathlons, this year’s is based around the Ribblesdale pool. The daunting disciplines


facing the competitors are a swim involving 60 lengths, a 20-miles cycle ride — to the outskirts of Longridge and back — and, to top it all, a 10-


mile run. Last year’s winners are back
