Uniformity of signs
welcomed
SUPPORT for a scheme by Lancashire County Council for a uniform system of signs drawing attention to tourist attrac tions was given at a meet ing of the Ribble Valley Council's Planning and Transportation Com mittec.
Members backed a policy document outlining
the 'plan and a code of practice which will go with it
Borough Solicitor Mr
Paul Timson said one of the proposals was that each town would have a sign with a pictorial theme. In Clitheroe's case it would depict the Castle hill.
Joyce Lilburn (Bolton-by- Bowland), said that the scheme had been long- awaited by those trying to promote "tourist attrac tions in the Ribble Valley.
