A SUGGESTION by Coun. Jimmy Fell, of Whalley, to substitute the name Ribble Valley for the post town on letters in the area has been given the thumbs down by the GPO. In a “Whalley Window”


article in the Advertiser and Times, Coun. Fell said that using the correct postcode would diminish the need for the post town, such as Blackburn, Preston or Burnley, and the name Ribble Valley could be added to addres­ ses without confusing matters. But the Post Office says
