Mitton Cottage pie
Members of Little Mitton WI were delighted to be able to congratulate the VCO at their annual meet ing, Mrs Margaret Lupton, on being a member of the victorious Lancashire team in the BBC’s town and country radio quiz. President Mrs E. Simp
son read the monthly letter and reported that mem bers had raised £76 at a recent jumble sale and £16
read by Mrs Ryan and the cake cut by Mrs Lupton and Mrs Hartley. A cup for the most points won in monthly competitions was presented to Mrs Jackson. Mrs Thistlethwaite was
congratulated on her recent success with the county WI quiz team in London and received a spe cial brooch from Mrs Hartley. Members discussed the

of Bowland Forest YFC had an educational visit to Ashcroft Provender Mer chants at Barrow, where they viewed the new mil ling plant run by the silicon
chip. Afterwards a drink and
a meal was enjoyed at the Spread Eagle Hotel. Mr Stephen Pike gave a vote
of thanks. Despite a very wet
night, the Bowland Forest YFC bonfire in Dunsop Bridge was a success. The fireworks all went off safely and the potatoes and treacle toffee went down a treat.
Mr Haig, of Clitheroe, is
to visit a future YFC meeting to speak about the Ribble Valley Talking Newspaper. In order to boost funds

Reopens doors Sabden Baptist Church
reopened its doors on Sun day after being closed for several weeks. Dry rot was discovered
