A P A R T Y o f 13 Sabden ■women went to see .the home o f Lancashire lass Grade
Fields on the Isle of Capri, during their holiday in Italy. The party flew from Lon
don to Romb and then moved to their permanent- base for the five-day trip, Sorrento.
The holiday was organised by Mrs Ann Nuttall, of Gar
dener's Row, Sabden. The group went on a number of. excursions including one to the ruins of Pompeii.
“That turned out to be a
disappointment,” said Mrs Nuttall, “because the people
who look after the ruins were on strike so we couldn’t' go
inside. r "But we a ir enjoyed the
. holida'y. The weather was lovely and the excursions were interesting.” Mrs Nuttall organises a trip
each year and she now has the pleasant problem o f choosing between • Paris, Austria and Venice for next year.

^CHthcroe’s Youth Leader Mr Geoff Jackson, who runs the centre, has asked Billing- ton Parish Council to' find a
site. He said: “We want a trial
run in Langho before the sum mer holidays. We will assesss the need there with a view to making regular visits from

any voungsters in Billington and Langho will be able to take part in activities. "We will find out what
activities they would like and probably arrange trips to an ice rink and to other youth clubs. “The centre is slowly devel-
