Drivers’ eyesight at fault

MOST motorists in the Clitheroe area have reason ably good vision . . . but some drivers could do with a visit to the opticians.

That's the conclusion

reached after 40 drivers had taken a vision test at an

exhibition at Ratcliffe and Thornton's garage on Whal- ley Road.

The tests were conducted

by Area Road Safety Officer Mr Neil Cunlifle, who said later: “ Although no driver got everything right, the majority of those examined had above-average eyesight. But there were one or two who should consult an eye specialist.

“ Our test is not intended as a substitute for those

carried out by doctors and opticians. But it gave a fairly good indication of how a driver would see a situa tion on the road,” said Mr Cunlifle.
