Hooper, who told a story from John Ackwnrtli’s “ Clog Shop Chronicles.” This was entitled ” Tho story of Jimmy, Juddy and Nancy,” and was very linmorously narrated in the authentic dialect, tvitli tlio result that 3Ir. Hooper scored a great suc cess, the gathering applauding iiini very ontliusiastieally. The story was told in four parts—” Hanging up his hat,” ” Break ing the news.” ” The Wedding ” and ” Tho Grand Concert.” The episodes were intcr- sper.‘icd by appropriate musical .selections, sung by Mrs. Bargh. These were ” Home, dearest,” “ The sonio old, dear, old place ” and ” -All’s Well.” All were sung excel lently, and wero thoroughly enjoyed. Fol lowing tho recital, supper was served, and everyone present had a really pleasant even ing. Thanks to the Rev. H. Hooper wOro accorded by Mr. J . Wilkinson, and tho hostesses were thanked on the proposition of 3fr. G. Clarkson. A collection was taken and this realized about £3, which will be h‘aiide<l to Church funds.
