Tide Breaker is backed by Compass, Elementz’s strategic advisory group, which includes representatives from
companies such as Adura, Aker BP, and bp. Through Tide Breaker, Compass members will define technical challenges, mentor participants, and evaluate outcomes for field deployment. The Data Lab, Scotland’s innovation centre for data and AI, is supporting Tide Breaker by advising on programme design, participant selection and helping to ensure robust, well-governed delivery. With ONE Digital Tech also supporting, Tide Breaker will benefit from connections into the region’s wider entrepreneurial ecosystem and help ensure the programme drives impact at scale.

Wood And Kellas Midstream Extend Operating Partnership At The CATS Facility
Wood, a global leader in consulting and engineering, has renewed its longstanding contract with Kellas Midstream to continue serving as operating partner (‘Duty Holder’), for the Central Area Transmission System (CATS) at Teesside in the United Kingdom (UK).
Wood has operated the CATS processing terminal and the associated 404-kilometre pipeline transporting gas from the Central North Sea since 2015. Under the renewed contract, Wood will continue to manage all day-to-day operations, including maintenance, integrity management, emergency response and engineering services.
CATS remains a central part of the UK’s energy system. In 2025, the
terminal delivered around eight billion standard cubic meters of gas to UK markets, meeting 10% of the country’s demand and accounting for roughly a quarter of total UK production.
Steve Nicol, Executive President for Operations at Wood, said: “The safe, reliable operation of CATS is essential to the UK’s energy security. This contract renewal, secured through a competitive process, reflects confidence in our Duty Holder capabilities and the steady, assured approach our teams bring to managing critical national infrastructure.
