$5 Million Contracts get 2022 off to Strong Start
An Aberdeen-based torque machine specialist has reported a strong start to 2022 thanks to the award of contracts totalling more than $5 million.
After ending 2021 on a high note, the first quarter of this year has seen award- winning EnerQuip further enhance its global footprint thanks to an array of new wins, including its first direct sale to Guyana. In addition are the first two of a three-machine project for Abu Dhabi where demand continues to climb, and plans to create a sales and service centre this year continue apace.
In addition to new kit, EnerQuip’s servicing capabilities are also much in demand and the latest tranche of work includes some $1 million of after sales support, which is also viewed as an integral part of the business.

anticipated with engineering roles set to be the first requirement.
EnerQuip Global Sales & Business Development Manager Darren Bragg said: “It is again evident that our investment in fostering strong client relationships is important when it comes to growing our business in steps with their needs. Each time we work with existing clients in new locations, we are able to take the network we have established in Scotland to a greater worldwide audience and this is crucial to realising our long-term growth ambitions.”
Director Andrew Robins added: “These recent contract awards are important steps towards a return to pre-pandemic levels and we are on track to achieve that by the end of the year. In spite of ongoing operating challenges, we are now able to look forward with optimism and forge ahead with our plans to open a centre in Abu Dhabi which we hope will further consolidate our presence in the important Middle East market.”
Enerquip specialises in the design, manufacture, installation and maintenance of torque machines and associated products, including bucking units and fully rotational makeup and breakout torque machines which can be adapted to suit any application. International hubs in Houston and Abu Dhabi work in parallel with the company’s global headquarters in Aberdeen and additional premises in Caithness to deliver products and services to a growing client base in the likes of Africa, North and South America, Canada, Europe, Far East, Australia, and the Middle East, as well as the UK.
In 2020, the company received a coveted Queens Award for Enterprise for outstanding achievement in the field of International Trade. It was a finalist in the 2022 Northern Star Business Awards and is a finalist in this year’s Elevator and Made in Scotland Awards.
