WINING & DINING MATCHA YAAD
The Matcha Yaad
THE POPULARITY OF MATCHA TEA A STAPLE ITEM AT HIGH STREET COFFEE SHOPS

Mo has also, through a process of infusion rather than blending, created three flavoured Matchas - Chocolate, Strawberry and Peach - which maintain the full integrity of the ceremonial-grade Matcha. Each has a vivid green colour, smooth texture and velvety finish, while introducing a bright, aromatic flavoured note. What’s more, they can be served both chilled and warm. These are also a great introductory product to Matcha.
All of the powders are rich in L-theanine for relaxation, are gluten-free, sugar-free and dairy-free ceremonial grade base. They have a light, natural flavouring with no bitterness or overwhelm and standout in a market dominated by formats with sugars and milks.
In addition, alongside the Matcha Tea Powders, there is also the award-winning Matcha Ginger Refresher which won the UK New Product of the Year at the Speciality Fine Food Fair 2024 and also won Best Non-Alcoholic Drink at the UK Caribbean Food and Drink Awards 2024. Combining ginger, cayenne, lime and ceremonial-grade Matcha, The Matcha Ginger Refresher, which comes in a can, is the perfect 3pm pick and provides clean, sustained energy that actually lasts.

The Matcha Tea Market has transformed from a niche health fad into a mainstream beverage for those demanding natural energy and functional superfoods.
It has become a staple item at high street coffee shops and with it growing in such popularity, it is therefore not surprising more people are opting to drink it at home too.
The Matcha Yaad is a premium brand redefining how Matcha is experienced in the UK and specialises in functional Matcha for recovery, energy and radiance. It is more than a Matcha brand, it’s a movement towards mindful drinking.
Monique Farquharson started her Matcha journey in Jamaica where she tried her first Matcha and hated it. It was only after a bout of heart palpitations from drinking coffee that Mo started experimenting with pairing Matcha against the Caribbean spices she grew up with.
Mo then went to Japan, where she spent two years studying under a tea sensei and learning all about tea ceremonies and the science and the power behind Matcha. From there, she moved to the UK after receiving Aston University's first ever enterprise scholarship and built a brand - The Matcha Yaad. The result combines the bold flavours of the Caribbean with Japanese Matcha for calm focus, creating flavoursome yet functional beverages that fuel productivity and wellness.
The cultivar of Matcha is Gokou, which is prized in Japan. It is designed for experienced Matcha drinkers who celebrate traditional tea ceremonies, are looking for premium drinks, as well as an ingredient for culinary creations.
