And sadly, everybody, everywhere, has been affected by cancer in some shape or form either personally or friends of family.

It’s tough both mentally and emotionally, having a good support network, be that your friends or your family or organisations likethe Worsestershire Breast Unit is key.

There are many paths to navigate when you have breast cancer and having someone who is professionally trained on hair and scalp care to support you as you rebuild your self-esteem is essential as you become great again. That’s why I am proud to continue to support Worcestershire Breast Unit Haven all I can, worcsbreastunithaven.com

Programmes for hair and scalp care during cancer are not generic. They must be curated for you and having someone who is recommended through your network, who can be trusted to do the right thing is key. To help me support my clients I have spent years looking at the science of hair loss , during this time attending over 100 training courses, practicing hair advice, coaching, cutting and styling for over 30 years and using over 500 different hair and scalp products for the best results.

Timing and taking time are key in the hair and scalp process. Should you choose to go the route of a wig, for example it can take weeks to find and cut the right one to suit you. There are many hair and scalp questions to navigate and often they don’t become apparent until too late so taking your stylist on the journey with you may be beneficial.
