CLASS NOTES December 1, 2020 – June 30, 2021 ’60s
DENNIS (RICK) ACQUARO, D.C. (Main, ’65) received an award for 50+ continuous years of practice from the Florida Board of Chiropractic Medicine. Dr. Acquaro began practice in Daytona Beach in 1967 and is a past president of the Florida Chiropractic Association. He’s currently serving as a part-time faculty clinician at Palmer Florida.
’70s
PAUL PROTZ, D.C. (Main, ’70) celebrated 50 years of service at his clinic in Crossville, Alabama, in December 2020. Dr. Protz joined W.D. Watts, D.C. (Main, ’47), at what is now Crossville Chiropractic Center in December 1970.
RON HILL, D.C. (Main, ’73) retired in late 2020 after 47 years in practice. Dr. Hill practiced in DeWitt, Iowa for four years before becoming the sole owner of Hill Chiropractic.
’80s
ANDREW LAWRENCE, D.C. (Main, ’80) received the Medal of the Order of Australia
for his decades of service to the chiropractic profession. Dr. Lawrence currently serves on the board for the World Federation of Chiropractic.
DOUGLAS VANDER BROEK, D.C. (Main, ’83) was appointed chair of the Nebraska State Board of Health, the first chiropractor to hold the position in Nebraska. Dr. Vander Broek owns and operates ChiroConsultants in Lincoln, Nebraska.
’90s
BRETT SHORT, D.C. (Main, ’91) celebrated 30 years in practice. Dr. Short began practicing right after graduation in 1991 and opened Short Chiropractic in 1998. He was recently joined by his son, Luke Short, D.C. (Main, ’20).
’00s
STEPHANIE FOISY RYAN, D.C. (Main, ’00) was appointed by the governor of New Hampshire in October 2020 to serve a five- year term on the New Hampshire Board of Chiropractic Examiners. Dr. Ryan is the Clinic Director for Crossroads Chiropractic.
’10s
ASHLEY QUINN-NIXON, D.C. (Main, ’10) opened Quinn Chiropractic in Ludington, Michigan, in November 2020. Prior to opening her own practice, Dr. Quinn-Nixon worked with Lew Squires, D.C. (Main, ’74).
CARISSA MITCHELL, D.C. (Main, ’15) joined Tri-County Health Care in Wadena, Minnesota as the first to offer chiropractic care at the facility.
KALLI PARIS, D.C. (Florida, ’17) was named to the Twenty Under 40! list by the Canton, Ohio Regional Chamber of Commerce. Dr. Paris owns Body, Mind & Spine Wellness Center in North Canton, Ohio.
BEN HENNES, D.C. (Main, ’18) and DANIELLE (AYRES) HENNES, D.C. (Main, ’18), opened Foundations Chiropractic in Zionsville, Indiana, in summer 2021.
DREW ANDERSON, D.C. (Main, ’19) opened Anderson Chiropractic in Lake Mills, Iowa in March 2021.
’20s
LINDSEY BENNETT, D.C. (Florida, ’20) opened Ember Chiropractic, a mobile chiropractic service that serves St. Clair and Sanilac counties in Michigan.
JILLIAN MAZEIKA, D.C. (Main, ’20) reopened Reich Chiropractic Clinic in South Beloit, Wisconsin following the sudden passing of her father, Brad Reich, D.C. (Main, ’86), in August 2019. The clinic will celebrate 70 years in 2021.
JENNIFER SCANLON, D.C. (Florida, ’20) joined East Coast Chiropractic and Wellness in Lewes, Deleware in March 2020. Dr. Scanlon joins fellow Palmer Florida alumna and practice owner, Dr. Carri Murray.
