Integrated systems improve validation Husky’s Innovation award centres on turning a traditionally fragmented moulding cell into a single engineered medical platform. Historically, manufacturers sourced machines, moulds, hot runners, auxiliaries and software from multiple vendors and then stitched them together, adding complexity, lengthening validation and blurring accountability. The ICHOR integrated medical injection system addresses this by unifying the system: Schöttli high- precision moulds, Husky injection equipment, hot runners, auxiliaries and controls under one architecture with a unified HMI. Based on its PET expertise, Husky developed the system for regulated environments, bringing the familiarity of high-volume packaging systems into a medical context without compromising traceability or compliance. Husky has extended its mould and process innovation into categories such as pen and auto-injectors, syringes and pre-filled syringes, blood collection tubes and femcare components. The system supports high-cavity, complex parts at high throughput while maintaining dimensional accuracy and surface quality, critical for medical consumables where margins are tight and quality requirements uncompromising. Advantage+Elite, embedding predictive service into the life cycle. With 24/7 remote monitoring and analytics, Husky can detect deterioration early, schedule interventions and support optimisation of OEE. This shifts uptime from reactive maintenance to a designed outcome. Adoption of Advantage+Elite has improved efficiency, reliability and part quality, positioning the ICHOR platform as a technical and financial asset. Multi-region rollout drives capacity Husky has turned the ICHOR injection moulding system into a repeatable model for multi-region deployment, balancing reshoring in established markets with installations in high-growth regions. In the US and France, Husky’s approach has supported onshoring and capacity re-establishment. Deployments at manufacturers such as Nephron Pharmaceuticals show how integrated systems enable large-scale local production of medical consumables, improving supply resilience and reducing import dependence. In France, Husky’s return after a decade, driven by demand for full systems rather than stand-alone


tooling, highlights the strength of its integrated proposition.


In growth regions, Husky has helped customers transition from buyers to producers. In India, Kriya Medical Technologies and CML Biotech have deployed ICHOR systems with Schöttli moulds and Advantage+Elite support to establish high-volume blood collection tube production. Cycle times below 5.5 seconds and annual capacities in the hundreds of millions position these firms as competitive suppliers for domestic and export markets. Husky’s role has extended from solution definition to training and optimisation, enabling vertical integration. In Türkiye, SEM Plastik, under its SEM Biotech division, is entering blood collection tube manufacturing with deployment of the ICHOR integrated medical system. The collaboration supports diversification and strengthens Türkiye’s position in the regional medical device supply chain.


SEM Plastik selected Husky as a long- term supplier, recognising the value of the ICHOR platform and service offering. As an early adopter, it invested in a solution designed to deliver consistent quality, efficiency and regulatory compliance from day one. Husky’s Medical Tooling Centers of Excellence in Switzerland and California standardise mould design, process know-how and validation.
