patient satisfaction. In low- and middle- income countries, and in resource-limited or remote settings, POCT can offer further benefit over laboratory testing. Vital education

In a recent webcast entitled ‘Chronic disease management in the post-Covid era: the value of point-of-care testing for cardiovascular risk and kidney disease management in diabetes and non-diabetes patients’, expert insights are provided on the value of POCT as told through the eyes of internationally acclaimed experts from Germany, Norway, China and Colombia. The speakers discuss how early detection of cardiovascular and renal complications is key to initiating treatment and slowing progression of kidney disease. ACR POCT will also be the key theme of an upcoming webcast mini-series on the educational platform mypocacademy.com.

International speakers will discuss the role of rapid diagnostics in disease prevention, explaining how ACR POCT enables healthcare providers to detect, and initiate treatment for kidney disease in minutes.

The first three of these six 20-minute webcasts – one to watch each month – began on 17 October. The Abbott educational platform myPOCacademy is an expert resource for healthcare professionals, providing a range of professionally accredited learning on POCT. Working with an expert faculty, content covers multiple clinical disciplines, including respiratory health, kidney and cardiovascular disease, infectious disease and diabetes.
