I first saw Sunflowers when I visited the National Gallery as a six-year-old with my grandmother, who was taking classes in oil painting. Te bold colour and painterly quality made an impression on me, and so did the postcards in the shop, a great way to start
collecting art. When I studied art history, I revisited Sunflowers to reminisce and to observe how others received and interacted with it. Of course, it’s now mass produced, some would say over hyped – is that good or bad? Is there a correct answer? Te fun is in the debate.
