COMMENT Ӏ AUGUST 2025

HAVE A GREAT SUMMER!

Summer is most definitely here in the UK. The sun always puts me in a good mood. My positive outlook was boosted further when I saw the advert from Netherlands-based lifting and rigging hardware manufacturer Ropeblock on page 13 of this issue. 'Have a great summer' is Ropeblock's simple message. That's the kind of advert I like... and it's a sentiment I'd like to echo here. It's a feel-good message for an industry that, from my perspective, it feels good to write about! Why is this? Well, for one, the lifting and specialised

transport community really does feel like one big family. It might sound a cliche but it's true! Just take a look at our LinkedIn page (@Cranes Today Magazine) if you don't believe me. The positive feedback and messages of support there are enough to put a smile on even the grumpiest trade editor's face.

Second, there's always something new and exciting to write about. In this issue alone, for example, (on the same page as Ropeblock's ad) read about how the first Grove GMK3060L-1 all-terrain cranes in Egypt will be used at a major refinery project in northeastern Cairo; or (also in news) how Japanese Denzai has completed its first project in Africa. Then, in the modular construction feature, how the first Grove GMK6450-1 all terrain crane in Canada has been used for a tilt-up panel lift project. As I said, there's always something new going on and that, combined with the sunshine, makes me smile.
