DENZAI COMPLETES FIRST AFRICAN PROJECT
Japanese heavy lift and transport company Denzai has completed its first project in Africa. The job was for Daewoo E&C Nigeria, a subsidiary of Daewoo Engineering & Construction, and involved heavy lifting work on its Indorama 3 Project in Port Harcourt, Nigeria. Through its Denzai International
Projects division Denzai provided technical planning, dispatched crane operators and leased a 1350 tonne crawler crane: the Liebherr LR11350. During the three- month contract period Denzai performed a total of 19 heavy lifting operations – seven in the Ammonia Area and 12 in the Urea Area – with a combined total weight of 4,350 tonnes. The Indorama
Fertilizer Line 3 will
contain a 2,300 Metric Tons Per Day (MTPD) capacity for ammonia, a 4,000 MTPD urea facility. The project will support fertiliser consumption and promotes the successful use of arable land which should increase crop yields and food security in Nigeria. "We are pleased that we have
successfully completed this project, the first of its kind in Africa,” said Kohki Uemura, president & CEO, Denzai K.K. “We sincerely hope that the construction of this fertiliser plant will contribute to improving the efficiency of agricultural production in Nigeria, and help alleviate the food crisis in Africa." “Working on the Indorama 3 project was both a technical and logistical challenge, but one we were proud to take on,” added Jeong Won Seo, director, Denzai International Projects. “From planning through execution, our team worked to ensure every lift was performed safely and efficiently. We’re honoured to have contributed to the success of this critical infrastructure project in Nigeria.”
TADANO COMPLETES IHI TRANSPORT MACHINERY ACQUISITION
Japanese crane manufacturer Tadano has completed its acquisition of the transportation system business of IHI Transport Machinery Co., a consolidated subsidiary of IHI Corporation. It says the acquisition marks a strategic milestone in its ongoing effort to expand its product portfolio and enhance value for customers across the globe. As part of the transaction a new
company, named IUK Crane, has been established to facilitate the transfer of the subject business. On July 1st, Tadano acquired 100% of IUK Crane’s shares, making it a wholly owned subsidiary. In alignment with Tadano’s strategic
direction, the company will be renamed Tadano Infrastructure Solutions, and Mr. Toshiaki Ujiie, president, CEO, and representative director of Tadano, will also serve concurrently as President of the new subsidiary. IHI Transport Machinery’s
transportation systems business, which has been in existence for over 50 years, includes jib climbing cranes, port and large offshore cranes, wind power cranes, and bulk handling systems. These additions, Tadano says, complement its existing offerings, particularly its lattice boom crawler cranes and enhance its ability to
support customers in industries such as construction, ports and offshore, wind energy, and general industry. "The completion of this acquisition is a
key step in expanding our capabilities in the global lifting equipment market," said Mr. Ujiie. "By integrating this business into our group, we are better equipped to serve the evolving needs of our customers and deliver long-term value." The acquisition cost is approximately
15.3 billion yen (however, the final acquisition cost has not been fixed at this time because the price adjustment based on the share transfer agreement has not been completed).
