Micronlab’s ISO 17025 accreditation strengthens commitment to cleanroom testing excellence

Micronclean has announced that MicronLab, its dedicated cleanroom testing laboratory, has officially achieved ISO/IEC 17025:2017, the international ‘gold standard’ for testing and calibration laboratories. MicronLab has been accredited for its Cleanroom Environmental Microbiological Testing, which offers a wide variety of testing services to its customers.

The company’s latest milestone achievement signals its commitment to technical excellence, data integrity and quality assurance in delivering cleanroom specific analytical services. MicronLab offers the cleanroom industry an array of innovative technical testing solutions including environmental monitoring, bioburden, particulate and product testing. Achieving ISO 17025 status reflects Micronclean’s long term commitment to supporting industries where contamination control is critical, such as pharmaceuticals, medical devices, electronics and precision manufacturing.

Michelle Simpson, Micronclean’s product director, commented on the importance of the company’s latest achievement for its purpose-built laboratory , saying:“ As part of our mission to provide smarter testing and safer cleanrooms, ISO 17025 accreditation reinforces our promise to deliver scientifically rigorous, industry relevant testing that keeps our customers cleanrooms compliant and operationally secure.” Meanwhile, MicronClean has picked Krebe Tippo for £300,000 clean room investment. In early summer, Micronclean’s Roman Bank clean room laundry facility in Skegness, Lincolnshire, completed one of its most ambitious upgrades to date: the installation of two new industrial washers from Krebe Tippo, representing a £300,000 investment in operational efficiency and customer service. Installed and commissioned over a single weekend, with a phased validation prior to operational use, the new equipment was up and running early in the following week without missing a single customer delivery.

The investment replaces washers that had been in continuous service since 1996 when the dedicated plant first opened. In recent years, a combination of hard-to-source parts and unplanned downtime had put pressure on plant operations, particularly during periods of peak production.

EDITOR’S COMMENT

Clean sweep

You can be forgiven for thinking this issue is all about The Clean Show – it isn’t, even though there is a definite tilt of the scales that way.

However, The Clean Show is the biggest textile care trade show in the western hemisphere this year and, let’s face it, everybody is wondering about what is happening in the USA – especially the effect of tariffs and their impact both in USA and abroad and what President Trump is about to do next. You never can tell.

As I write this, as we go to press, that President has just landed on the lawn at Windsor Castle as he prepares to be feted by King Charles III on his much-publicised ‘unprecedented’ second State visit to the United Kingdom. So, it is all feels just a bit unreal right now as he hops into a horse drawn carriage with phalanxes of guards around him as we worry about what is happening in the modern world.

Therefore, Joe Ricci’s ‘state-of-the-nation’ piece (overleaf) – incidentally, the industrial laundry market there is doing A1 OK, although he raises the spectre of coming challenges due to tariffs – is a welcome breath of commonsense, based on facts (real ones). Take a breath.

On top of plenty of Clean coverage, we have a Spotlight on France, which finds the market there is pretty stable, despite the country facing problems which have resulted in it having consumed and spat out three Prime Ministers in a year. Perhaps this, and Ricci’s comments, indicate that whatever happens, the textile care industry manages to keep its feet on the ground and just gets on with things.

Leaving political and global unrest behind us for the time being, our regular features such as Material Solutions, What Went Wrong and drycleaners’ Trade Secrets, as always, have a relevance to textile care business the world over. Enjoy.
