AUSTRALASIA | MARKET INSIGHT

input costs elevated. Over the medium term, investment in transport infrastructure, critical minerals and renewable energy is expected to support a steady, if moderating, growth trajectory, with both countries targeting net zero by 2050.

Investment drives growth Australasia accounts for 2.7% of the global industrial construction pipeline, making it the second-smallest regional market. Despite its

relatively modest share, activity in the region is being supported by investment in mining, mineral extraction, manufacturing and materials processing, with Australia accounting for the overwhelming majority of the pipeline. GlobalData is currently tracking industrial construction projects across Australasia with a combined value of $160.5bn. The pipeline is heavily weighted towards projects in the early stages of development, with projects in pre-

planning and planning accounting for 68.3% of the total, equivalent to $109.6bn. Australia represents 97.9% of the regional pipeline by value, followed by New Zealand at 1.6% and Fiji at 0.4%. Private investment dominates funding, accounting for 92.4% of the total pipeline. Public investment contributes 4.1%, while the remaining 3.5% is being funded through public-private partnerships.
