PROJECT OF THE MONTH
As ropeway giant Doppelmayr USA doubles the size of its Salt Lake City facility, standardised lifting solutions from Harrington Hoists are driving efficiency everywhere from heavy shop-floor fabrication to rugged mountain installations.

oppelmayr USA relies on Harrington Hoists’ lifting products to support its manufacturing and installation operations. When the ropeway
manufacturer recently expanded its Salt Lake City operations to accommodate increased production capacity, the company again turned to Harrington to help move, build, install and maintain critical components used in ropeway (ski lift) systems. The expansion nearly doubled the size of Doppelmayr
USA’s existing facility and increased its manufacturing capabilities, creating a need for trusted, industrial-grade lifting equipment for all phases of its operations. Doppelmayr has trusted Harrington products for multiple past manufacturing applications, so they turned to Harrington once again to provide more than 25 Harrington NER/ER Series electric chain hoists with push trolleys for crane applications in the new facility. As the company’s primary welding and fabrication centre for North America, the facility handles

large, heavy components used in the production of ropeway systems. The demanding nature of the new manufacturing facility requires more robust lifting equipment than Doppelmayr has previously used. Harrington NER/ER three-phase electric hoists provide heavy-duty performance and higher lifting capacities needed to safely and efficiently move materials throughout the manufacturing process. By standardising the hoist fleet to Harrington products, the company benefited from equipment already familiar to operators and maintenance personnel while gaining the performance required to support its growing production requirements. The decision to standardise on Harrington equipment also simplified operations across the facility. With operators already familiar with the performance and functionality of Harrington hoists, training requirements were minimised and employees could quickly begin utilising the equipment for daily production tasks.
