Can you tell us how you got into this industry and why? I entered this sector thanks to a proposal made to me by the owner of Misia, who also owns a large company distributing ropes and lifting accessories, as well as the Italian distributor of KITO chain hoists. Even though my previous job was very good and relatively “comfortable” in a splendid office in the centre of Milan, I immediately accepted the offer to work in the Misia workshop because I have always personally found working in manufacturing activities more satisfying than the service sector.
What makes your company stand out?
Misia has been manufacturing an extensive range of hoists for more than 40 years and stands out for its custom production, starting with standard components and offering a wide range of products.
Misia works with overhead crane manufacturers independent of the major industrial groups in the sector, engineering firms and potential lifting equipment distributors, offering a complete and customisable range.

Over 120,000 wire rope units have been sold worldwide and are operational in every industry sector. For example, Misia’s XM series range consists of 11 sizes with capacities between 1,000kg and 50,000kg. The manufacturing of the standard version of XM series wire rope hoists covers over 90% of the company’s production, confirming the flexibility of the Misia product in adapting to
many industrial lifting applications without subjecting the user to a bespoke product. Furthermore, Misia never competes with its
customers; we offer components but exclude the production of overhead cranes. Misia is well recognised for high price/quality ratio, flexibility of the products and availability of spare parts. We are highly flexible and, above all, quick in providing quotes and delivering products.
