LEEA’s CEO Dr Ross Moloney, director of membership Matthew Barber and regional manager for South-East Asia, Wee Learn Ng, joined council members representing five countries across the region for the meeting held in Jakarta, Indonesia. The meeting included Lieutenant Colonel Frank Tan; Dr Mazlan Shah, director at DNV Malaysia; Rony Prayitno Simeon; and offshore engineer Farhan Hussein. Discussions centred on what action can be taken to advance safety within all lifting operations across all industries.

This is the third regional council established in key global areas by LEEA, which is the leading representative body for all those involved in the lifting industry worldwide. It follows successful models in the Middle East, Australia and New Zealand, which enables closer links and support to local LEEA members and the industries they serve. “I’m pleased to be elected chair of the newly formed LEEA South-East Asia Regional Council,” said Alex Lew. “It is an honour to take on this role and to work with a dedicated group of professionals who bring extensive knowledge and a common dedication to developing the lifting and safety industry.
