The team at Porter Pharmacy, Fraserburgh, successfully took on a 100 miles in a month challenge to raise vital funds for a charity very close to their hearts.
Going the Distance for Phoebe Royal Warrant
Renewed Congratulations to the team at Davidsons Chemists who have officially had their Royal Warrant from His Majesty The King renewed through to 2030.
The group said the recognition was a tremendous honour which reflected the continued dedication, professionalism, and hard work of their teams across the business. They went on to say they were incredibly proud to continue holding the mark of recognition and to maintain the high standards of service and care associated with it.
Members of staff teamed up together to each run, swim and walk 100 miles in a month and raised £1250 for the Scottish Air Ambulance Service who have been instrumental in supporting the daughter of one of the pharmacists, Pauline Crawford, who works at the branch.
Pauline’s daughter Phoebe, aged three, was born with the rare chromosome disorder GRIA3 which causes her to be severely developmentally delayed and have regular seizures, meaning she needs constant care. Phoebe is one of only 40 known cases in the world and one of only six girls.
Fellow pharmacist at the branch, Heidi Murdoch, said the air ambulance team had been called out to care for Phoebe on numerous occasions.
“Phoebe would not be here if it was not for the air ambulance service and we wanted to be able to say thank you,” explained Heidi.
The idea first came about after some members of the team had attended a coffee morning that Pauline’s mum was hosting to raise funds for the Scottish Air Ambulance and GRI-UK.
“There was someone from the air ambulance team there who was giving a talk about what they did. We all found it so inspiring and we wanted

to do something to help, so most of the team at the pharmacy decided to take on the 100 mile challenge that the air ambulance service does in May,” said Heidi.
“Together the team walked, swam and ran 1199 miles. One hundred miles each is more than you think and we all had to fit it in around our home lives and working full time but we all really enjoyed it. We even managed to fit in some group walks,” she said.
The pharmacy team was one of the top fundraisers for the annual event which helps to keep crews flying and saving lives in Scotland.
Davidsons Chemists are a Community Pharmacy group of 57 branches serving patients across most of Scotland.
The Warrant for King Charles III is for their pharmacy in Ballater, Royal Deeside.
