HELP FOR MEN STRUGGLING IN SILENCE
An estimated five million men in the UK experience erection problems (EPs), but only four per cent of them have sought help from a pharmacist.
To help men struggling in silence, Viagra Connect® has launched the
new trial size 2 pack for pharmacy retailers across the UK. Aimed at men, who are worried about trying an erection problems treatment for the first time, the 2 pack has all the reassurance of the iconic and trusted Viagra brand at an acceptable entry price. The launch will drive new men with EPs into store, providing a new commercial opportunity for pharmacists to further grow the category.
• Recommended retail price: £10.99 • Contact information for pharmacists to order the product:

YOUNG PEOPLE’S MENTAL HEALTH UNDER SPOTLIGHT
A new ‘Early Intervention Framework’ should help staff across Scotland make better informed decisions around children and young people’s mental health and well-being.
This web-based resource enables staff across sectors throughout Scotland to make fully informed investment decisions about early intervention or prevention approaches, and how such potential approaches align with their local contexts. It should help them to be methodical and effective in their service commissioning and provision.
Developed by the NES Psychology team, the Early Intervention Framework for Children and Young People’s Mental Health and Wellbeing includes:
• A searchable database of evidence-based mental health and wellbeing interventions for children and young people (from the antenatal period- 18 years)
• Comprehensive information for each intervention included in the database across six key dimensions of implementation

NEW PATIENT INFORMATION VIDEOS FOR PEOPLE STARTING CANCER TREATMENT
NHS Highland have partnered with Macmillan Cancer Support to develop two new video resources for people being offered treatment with chemotherapy or radiotherapy, and their families.
Focus groups hosted in 2019 by the NHS Highland/Macmillan Person Centred Care Project with people who have been through cancer treatment in the Highlands revealed that visual cues to people and places ahead of cancer treatment would have helped reduce anxiety ahead of a first treatment. In response to this, the project developed two videos: ‘introduction to chemotherapy’ and ‘introduction to radiotherapy’, to aid understanding of what to expect ahead of their cancer treatment.
In February 2021, both videos went live on NHS Highland YouTube. NHS Highland have also partnered with Maggies Highland to host group zoom meetings. In these groups, people about to start chemotherapy or radiotherapy watch the relevant video and discuss the content with each other, a member of staff at Maggies Highland, and NHS Highland staff.
For more information, please contact Maggies Highland: Tel 01463 706306, or email:
