world of work? If so, we have just the resource for you! The East Sussex Careers Hub’s mission is to inspire and prepare young people for the world of work by using the skills and experiences of a network of employers who pass on their knowledge in a variety of ways.
We work with local businesses, schools and colleges to give every young person the chance to go as far as their talents and hard work will take them. These are just some of the ways we can help you:
• Our ‘Open Doors’ programme allows small groups of students to visit employers’ workplaces and see inside an organisation.
• We offer visits from ‘Industry Champions’. These are volunteers who come into a school or college to tell young people about their careers journey, and opportunities in their sector.
• We also organise work experience offering young people an invaluable opportunity to learn about the skills and behaviours required in the workplace and inform them about future careers options.
What does this mean for you?
If you are a student in East Sussex, you will have a dedicated Careers Leader in your school or college as well as access to a bank of resources, events and encounters with employers through your school and the Hub.
